Happy 5th Birthday Brayden!

I can't believe my little baby boy is 5 years old.  Brayden was so excited to turn 5.  He has already had 2 parties and is looking forward to a third next weekend.  We had a Cars 2 party in August when Grammy and PaPa Heard and CJ were here.  It was a lot of fun and Brayden loved that he got to celebrate with them.

We had to light the candles a second time because Colby got a little too excited the first time and blew them out before Brayden could.

On Brayden's real birthday we went to the Seattle Zoo.  We had a great day and Brayden got to see some of his favorite animals, hippos and a jaguar.

The penguins were swimming right up to us.

They had a dinosaur exhibit while we were there.  The dinosaurs moved and made noises.  The boys were a little afraid but did okay until we got to the t-rex at the end.  We walked very fast past the t-rex.

My little monkeys outside of the monkey cage.

We got to make elephant poo paper.  It was fresh elephant poo from the zoo, that they had sanatized that morning, mixed with paper pulp.  It was interesting and gross.

Since it was Brayden's birthday, we let him feed the elephant.  He thought it was pretty cool.  I feed him also.  It was awesome to be so close to the elephant.  Colby got scared and let Brayden feed the elephant again.

We had huge ice cream cones at the zoo.  We were all a mess.

We had Brayden's birthday dessert the next day.  Brownie sundaes!  This time we put Colby across the table when Brayden blew out his candles.

Blueberries!

Yesterday the boys and I went to a blueberry farm with our friends.  It was beautiful and we had a great time picking blueberries.  It was like an easter egg hunt, only the reward was healthier.

Colby had to taste them to make sure they were good.

We ended up picking a little over 4 lbs of bluberries.  I froze them so we can have fresh blueberries in the middle of the winter, if they last that long.

So yesterday afternoon, we made blueberry muffins.  The boys are so much fun to bake with.  Brayden is getting very independent in the kitchen.  He can measure things by himself.  Colby is starting to be more of a help and less of a mess maker.

Yummy!!!

Watch out!  Your next!
